Should i go to london metropolitan university

The staff are often very unhelpful and are on a power trip. They treat students poorly and unprofessionally. They gang up against students so you feel powerless and that there is no one on your side and there is nothing you can do. Your grievances are not heard. The allocation of placements is often poor. Many students still waiting for placements.

No explanations for delays but that you should just wait. It has been an anxious experience for me. Regret choosing to study with this institution. There seems to be no accountability for the staff who work there, many of whom look and act like they don't like working there. Choose at your peril. Badly run, factory farm environment, stack em high and sell it for profit approach to education.

Stampeding encouraged to sign up for courses on first day. No one who works there will know the answer to your queries, Staff are rude and very often seem like they don't want to be there, far too many TA's who struggle with conversing in English teaching full semesters instead of employed staff.

It is absolutely a con to go here. It is a money making business, I really regret not doing an apprenticeship or training scheme, I wouldn't have debt and I would be so much further along in my career by now. What a waste of time and money. Stay well clear of this institution, the campus's are in high crime areas and it's definitely not the university experience you get in other parts of the UK. Being a student at London Met might be challenging at times, but still very rewarding.

University has a big focus on student employability and is full assistive staff that genuinely want students to succeed. I managed to get a professional qualification alongside my marketing communications degree, as well as work experience that helped me to graduate with not just an academic knowledge, but also practical experience, that certainly gives positive differentiation once in the job market.

It is also worth mentioning that the university is actually improving their facilities and what it has to offer to students, from teaching approaches and student services to events and other activities. The facilities were never packed to the brim and everyone respected each other. I feel like my professors were so understanding because they were feeling the mental impacts as well. You could see on their faces that some days were just a bit harder than others. So it was a mutual understanding of not feeling yourself sometimes. In terms of disabilities from what I can see the university appropriately caters to people who live with them. They have motorised lifts to avoid stairs and an elevator.

I personally have not used the mental health support at London met but I do recall some sort of organisation link to providing help with people who are struggling. I suppose it's because of Covid that my experience hasn't matched my experience in foundation year where we could explore sites and go on trips.

I hope that Covid clears so that things improve. Due to the pandemic, I've had to do all of my lectures and classes remotely at home.

As I have completed the foundation year before Covid, facilities were always accessible. But since Covid and lockdown, it has been difficult to get the chance to use them again. We have to purchase our own equipment but my tutors are fairly nice and often have allowed us to borrow materials.

There are a variety of support services offered by the uni for all sorts of issues. I quite enjoy the university experience studying at London metropolitan university. I feel like with the next few years I will be getting more support in creating a career. Everyone is really helpful and they always value opinions and freedom of speech.

Also everything is really easy to assimilate. This academic year has been challenging, however, the lecturers have done an amazing job at providing all teaching online in a very smooth transition.

I am receiving lots of exciting information about job opportunities as well as a great degree in which I hope to further through a masters in Nutrition. The uni has provided me with access to mental health support as well as physical activities to keep me focussed and calm whilst being very separated from friends and family.

I really appreciate the community environment I have received from the uni and the lecturers and excited for third year!! Regular guest speakers come to the uni although at the moment this is all online.

We have regular careers weeks whereby guest speakers from different fields within each course talk about their career and tips on how to promote yourself and succeed! I also receive many opportunities for internships and job vacancies to support my degree and of course the course itself provides lots of great information on how to get a job after we have completed the degree from writing CVS and cover letters to further education options.

The staff have been amazing at shifting all teaching to online. Additionally, there are always lots of international scholarships at London Met to ensure students from all backgrounds have the opportunity to study in London.
